I always think: What is the Taiwan culture? I have a simple answer─ The life style which we have and no any other countries or races have is our culture. I got one; it's about our elementary school students.
You can see many elementary school students in the streets or in front of the door of the schools. They always take a roller travelling case, but they don't go to travel. They just go to school or go home, or, in many situations, they are in the way to cram school. It is because our text book is too thick and heavy, so they need to use a roller travelling case or they can't bring all the necessary books and stationery to school.
The weight of Taiwanese children's schoolbag is an important issue of education policy. It is a symbol of our mental and physical pressure of our children .Many parents, teachers, scholars, politician citizen that this situation can be attributable to the” reform of education" since 90'. In Taiwan, the issue of policy about whose problem, who’s responsibility and who has to resign is a very important question. Sometimes, it is more important than the solution of the problem. But there is sometimes a contradictory in many argument ─ you will read or hear the same person citizen that our student have too light or heavy pressure in learning in the same place at the same time. I think our children won't understand the complicated issue about education.
